WHY ADAPTIVE LEADERSHIP
Good Leaders adapt. They shift. They don’t remain static because they know the world around them does not remain static. This has always been true, but never more obvious than today, nor has the ability to change quickly been more important. There is very big difference between adaptability and conformity.
There is profound difference between adaptability and conformity. The “greats” seem to instinctively understand this difference, and while the disdain conformity, they cherish the courageous ability to adjust to changing circumstances. Conformity is the negative quality of blending in, becoming average, refusing to stand our or capitalize on ones uniqueness. Adaptability is the positive quality of being able to sense the shift in the wind direction and proactively adjust one’s course to take advantage of that wind shift. While conformity is a weakness based upon fear of rejection, adaptability is a strength based upon confidence in oneself and in owns judgment and abilities.
